The recital opens with Bach’s Italian Concerto, followed by Chopin’s Twelve Études, Op. 25, works of extraordinary virtuosity and poetic depth. Mozart’s Piano Sonata in C minor, K.457 reveals intense drama and emotional power, while Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit concludes the evening with its haunting imagery and dazzling technical demands. Blind since early childhood, Wang possesses an exceptional memory and learns vast repertoire entirely by ear. His performances have captivated audiences in China and the United States, earning praise for their technical brilliance, imagination, and emotional sincerity. A highlight of the evening is Wang’s remarkable gift for improvisation.
