Directed by Antonio Vargas This full-length production is a powerful meditation on ecological collapse and human endurance. It imagines a world where the earth is fractured—physically, socially, and spiritually—yet still carries within it the persistence of life and memory. The work brings together dancers from Flamenco Sin Fronteras alongside invited contemporary performers Pang Xin Yi and Gong Wen Xuan, forming an ensemble that bridges flamenco's raw intensity and contemporary dance's poetic fluidity. The choreography moves between intensity and stillness, evoking both destruction and renewal. The musical landscape is composed by Robert Casteels, and Spanish flamenco guitarist José Ismael Sierra, Taiwanese flamenco vocalist Chen Po-Yin, and Singaporean percussionist Lalit Kumar. This layered sonic environment blends traditional flamenco textures with contemporary sound design, creating a score that reflects instability, fragmentation, and moments of fragile harmony. Premiering at the Esplanade Theatre Studio in October 2026, the work positions itself as both an artistic statement and a reflection on shared global vulnerability. It asks what it means to remain human in a world under strain, and whether resilience can still be found within systems on the edge of collapse. Rooted in flamenco's rhythm and raw emotional force, each artist reinterprets the form through their own cultural lens — heritage meeting experimentation, discipline meeting improvisation.
